Barron County: Police launch helicopter to re-check area searched by volunteers

Barron County (WQOW) – For the first time in several days, there is a bit of an update in the search for missing Barron County teen Jayme Closs.

Sheriff Fitzgerald posted on Facebook Thursday afternoon that his department is using a helicopter to search the area that was already searched by volunteers a few weeks ago. The search is to look for any changes on the ground, especially now that most of the leaves have fallen from the trees. The search is not based on any new tips.

The sheriff did reiterate, however, there is a tip that will bring Closs home and his department continues to look for that tip.

The tip line number is 1-855-744-3879. Email tips to jaymetips@co.barron.wi.us
