Man dies in Barron Co. grain bin accident

Barron County (WQOW) – Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said Wednesday night that the man who had become stuck in a grain silo had passed away.

The case remains under investigation. The name of the victim will be released at a later date.


Barron County (WQOW) – A man had to be flown to a regional trauma center after being stuck in a grain silo on Wednesday.

According to Barron County Emergency Services, emergency responders were called to the 200 block of 10th Avenue in Barron for an adult male trapped inside a grain silo.

It took rescuers from several fire departments and sheriff’s deputies more than an hour to free the man.

He was flown out with life-threatening injuries.
