Madison/La Crosse, WI (WXOW) Assembly Speaker Robin Vos is explaining why he supports Wisconsin’s lame duck session.
Speaker Vos says in part, “. . . we want to make sure the new administration doesn’t try to work around the legislature and rule from the east wing. . .”
State Representative Jill Billings calls the session a “power grab” by republicans while they’re still in control.
Billings says people in Wisconsin have spoken. They want divided government to achieve balance.
While democrats may not have power to stop the session, Billings says her focus is providing information. “The thing that we can do in the minority is just inform people – make sure people know what’s going on.”
