LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WXOW) – A holiday classic came to town Wednesday night.
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, all lit in the spirit of the season, pulled into La Crescent around 8:15 p.m. to a crowd of a few hundred people. Earlier in the evening, the train stopped in Lansing and New Albin, Iowa.
After setting up, there was a 30 minute show featuring music from The Trews and Willy Porter.
The train is continuing to Southeast Wisconsin and Northeastern Illinois before returning to the area on Saturday night.

Saturday, December 8

La Crosse – Amtrak Depot 601 St. Andrew Street – Arrival: 8:45 p.m. – Event 9-9:30 p.m.
Sunday, December 9
Winona – Amtrak Depot 65 East Mark Street – Arrival: 4:00 p.m. – Event: 4:15-4:45 p.m.
Visiting the Holiday Train is free. They do ask people to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to a local food pantry.
Since the Holiday Train began its journeys across the country, they’ve raised nearly $15 million and donated five million pounds of food to local pantries.
