La Crosse, WI – WXOW – The Salvation Army of La Crosse received a large donation from Mayo Clinic Health System, as a result of a donation match day held back in December.  The check for $15,000 was presented to Major Jeff Richardson by Dr. Paul Mueller.  The money is set to be used for mental health services provided by the Salvation Army.

“The organization cares for some of the most vulnerable people in our community.  They provide mental health services at the shelter where people stay,” Mueller said.

The match day, held on December 22, helped bring in a one day total exceeding $44,000.  According to Richardson, this year’s overall kettle campaign and the generosity of the community was a great boost, with totals larger than they’ve been over the last three years.
