La Crosse, WI (WXOW)  The La Crosse City Council approved plans to expand and renovate the La Crosse Center.

Approved West Concept Design

The cost, $42 million.

Work is set to begin next year, almost six years after the discussion about expansion began.

Maintenance work should begin this summer.  Construction should begin later this year and he hopes for project completion by early 2021.

We spoke with Center Board president Brent Smith about the project and asked how it will benefit the community.  He says not only will it help the Center, but it will generate significant money for the community.
