Prison time for Sparta man on child porn, other charges

SPARTA, Wis. (WXOW) – A Sparta man gets 20 years in prison after his conviction on a number of crimes against children.

Zachariah Svoboda, 29, received his sentence in Monroe County Circuit Court Tuesday.

Last October, he pleaded guilty to several counts including Possession of Child Pornography, Trafficking a Child, Child Sexual Exploitation, and Soliciting a Child for Prostitution.

According to Sparta Police, the department got information in 2016 that Svoboda was receiving child pornography through emails. A search of a computer used by Svoboda found several images of child pornography.

As the investigation unfolded, police found other communications with underage females on social media sites.

They also discovered Svoboda created numerous Craigslist ads facilitating sexual encounters with underage females.
