LADYSMITH, Wis.  – It was eight days ago that Jayme Closs escaped her accused kidnapper and made her way to safety.

News of the teen’s return quickly moved through the area she called home.

For some, they learned the good news while at a high school basketball game.

Ladysmith basketball coach Brad Cody said of the announcement, “That was probably one of the most moving event … I’ve been a part of basketball for a long time and that was probably one of the most moving things.”

The moment was memorable for a number of reasons including the connections to the Closs family.
