La Crosse, WI (WXOW) Good news from the Salvation Army.
The Red Kettle Campaign surpassed its $850,000 goal.
The campaign is designed to account for about a third of the Salvation Army’s annual budget.
Major Jeff Richardson says, “We are absolutely blessed to be part of this kind and generous community.”
Along with exceeding the goal, the money raised from bell ringing exceeded last year’s total by $36,000. That effort was the result of the 2,600 volunteers who took part in that effort.
Development Director Nick Ragner says, “The community stepped up in a big way. Individuals and organizations were reaching out to us wanting to know how they could help. Businesses supported major programs through the sponsorships, people held fundraising drives at work and children donated their allowances. It all made an impact. We are truly grateful to call this place home.”
