Two arrested after La Crosse shooting, robbery

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Two people are arrested after an armed robbery and shooting in La Crosse Wednesday morning.

La Crosse Police said they were called to the 300 block of Liberty Street around 10:53 a.m. for a shots fired complaint.

Once on the scene, a person who said he’d been robbed approached an officer. The victim said two men approached him outside a home on Gould Street. The men demanded money and displayed a handgun. After the man complied, one of the men fired the gun into the victim’s vehicle. The pair then fled on foot.

Officers followed the footprints to 918 Gould Street where the suspects lived. Police then established a perimeter around the location around 11:30 a.m. At 3:55 p.m., after receiving a search warrant, members of the Emergency Response Team entered the apartment where the suspects lived.

They arrested Timothy Ellis, 24, and Justin K. Ellis, 22, on charges of Armed Robbery and Reckless Endangerment of Safety.

Officers were not able to find the weapon believed used in the crime.

Both men remain held in the La Crosse County Jail awaiting court appearances.
