LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – If you are an outdoor fanatic, you might want to head down to the La Crosse Center during the next few days.
The La Crosse Boat, Sports, Travel, RV & Hunting Show kicks off this evening at the La Crosse Center. The show includes the best of hunting, fishing, camping and travel with the latest gear and newest models of boats and RV’s.
Vendors call it a great way for the public to get a hands on experience with their product. This weekend, Captain Jonathan Hillstand from the hit television show Deadliest Catch will be at the La Crosse Center from 12-2 PM and again from 4-7 PM.
“Instead of virtual realty actual reality, you can fish or hunt on a video or you could actually go do it. I can’t save the world but dang it go outside and come down to the show figure out what everybody else is doing they’re having a lot of fun,” said Hillstand.
There are live animal exhibits like the Parakeet Landing, where you can send time and even try to feed more than 300 of these small species of parrots.
There’s the Extreme Raptors Show, where you can get up close and personal and take a picture with a bald eagle
“I realize people can go out and see wild bald eagles but here they get to see one face to face at arms length,” said Johnathan Wood, Master Falconer and Wildlife Rehabilitator.
Wood has been rehabbing birds for more than 20 years. He Travels around the country entertaining and educating people of all ages on birds of prey.
“People by falling in love with these birds are very motivated to spend more time in the outdoors,” said Wood.
The Extreme Raptors Show is on Friday 6 and 8 p.m., Saturday 12:30, 3, 6, 8 p.m. and Sunday 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
