La Crosse, WI (WXOW) Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar joins a large field of democrats running for president.
That field includes four other women currently serving in Congress.
A local political analyst says Klobuchar is well liked by democrats. She has favorable reviews from many republicans in her state.
Anthony Chergosky says Klobuchar is electable. Her moderate stance on issues, however, could create an interesting debate among some voters.
Before serving in the U.S. Senate, Klobuchar worked as Hennepin County Attorney.
She is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School.
In 2006, she became the first woman from her state to represent Minnesota in the Senate.
