LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – More snow is headed our way and it could mean dangerous conditions both inside and outside of your home.
La Crosse County Emergency Coordinator Keith Butler reminds the community to remove snow and ice around their homes. Specifically make sure to clear off furnace vents to prevent carbon monoxide build up inside the home. “We want to encourage people today, clear that snow away because you start adding 6 to 10 or more inches on top of that snow there’s a real risk for those being blocked.”
It is important that carbon monoxide detectors are also updated and working properly.
Butler also reminds people to check in on their neighbors and drive safe if they absolutely have to leave the house as the snow continues to pile up.
