Jayme Closs thanks well-wishers for support

Jayme Closs’ guardian is relaying a message from Jayme, just over one month after she escaped her alleged captor in Douglas County.

According to a letter sent to WDIO-TV, the ABC station in Duluth, a guardian ad litem has been appointed for Closs. That person, who wished to remain anonymous, is appointed by the court and tasked with keeping Jayme’s best interests in mind.

The letter goes on to say,

“Jayme and her family wish to extend their deepest gratitude for the incredible gifts and generous donations that she has received from all over the country and around the world. Jayme greatly appreciates each and every gift, as well as the many cards and letters. The many kind words have been a source of great comfort to her.”

It was the evening of January 10 when Closs made her way out of a rural Gordon cabin and found help just down the road.

Jake Patterson has been charged with abducting Closs and killing her parents James and Denise.
