ONALASKA, Wis. (WXOW) — The Special Olympics and Onalaska Police Department hosted the ninth annual “Cops Gone Wild” fundraising event Buffalo Wild Wings.

Local law enforcement officers served food and drinks with 10% of their bill went to the Special Olympics. Souvenirs, t-shirts, party tickets and tickets for the upcoming Polar Plunge were items up for sale. The money raised will help athletes pay extra fees needed to participate.

Athletes and officers also competed in a wing eating contest–mild sauce.

“My favorite thing is that I like to see everyone come out and support Special Olympics,” athlete Scott Prairie said. It is a fun event meant for cops to serve the community in a different way. Their goal this year was to raise $2-3,000.
