LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – It’s a free, six week activity challenge meant to get you up and moving and tracking your exercise. Gundersen Health Systems Minutes in Motion challenge begins Monday, April 1.
One La Crosse man is getting his minutes in almost everyday before and after work. “It gives you time to think and gets you ready for the day,” said Gundersen CEO Dr. Scott Rathgaber.
He walks six blocks by foot. “I don’t put nearly as many miles on my car.” He puts up with the elements. “Some days are cold and biting so you want to get to work pretty quick. Some of the hotter days I get sweatier. Hopefully I don’t look like I’m all done by the time I get to work.”
Dr. Rathgaber built his home in the Powell Poage Hamilton neighborhood in 2017 and is happy to see the progress being made. “There’s more and more folks moving in. The neighborhood seems more vibrant.”
A breath of fresh air and a step in the right direction for a healthcare executive who’s promoting a healthier life and community by talking the talk and walking the walk.
The Minutes in Motion challenge is underway but you can still sign up. It’s free to do so. Go to their website to sign up as an individual or team.
