LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Cars lined up for your not so average drive-thru.

Harter’s Quick Clean-Up hosts an annual seven day shred event. This event has been going on the past three years.

100 pounds of confidential documents can be dropped off by local businesses and residents at no charge.

Anything over 100 pounds is welcome, but there will be a fee.

“I’ve heard nothing but positives,” Sales manager Jeff Holmquist said. “[Friday] we actually had a gentlemen that brought a small bag in and brought us a box of donuts. We’ve had several people try to give us cash, which we wouldn’t take, several friendly dogs have gone through here. It’s a little bit of everything quite honestly, but most people are very positive.”

These valuable documents are shredded and then recycled.

Holmquist also noted that one piece of personal identity in the wrong hands can leave you bankrupt, so shred what is no longer necessary.
