Onalaska, Wis. – (WXOW) – New faces at Onalaska City Hall as the Common Council swore in three new members.

Tom Smith, Dan Stevens and Boondi Iyers all took the oath of office.  The full Onalaska council now has an equal number of men and women serving.

“Onalaska is 52% women, so it just makes sense that there are half in the council.  And, I’m the first person of color on the council, that’s really exciting,” said Iyers.

Once the new members were sworn in, the council unanimously elected Diane Wulf as council president.  Also approved was a $200 monthly stipend for Assistant Fire Chief Troy Gudie as he is currently acting Chief.
