LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Viterbo University hosts the 18th annual nursing research event for area students and professionals in the medical field.

Gundersen Health System and Mayo Clinic Health System, along with Logistics Health Incorporated, hosted a research event at Viterbo on Thursday. The event was designed to promote evidence based research and innovative ideas in the medical field.

“This is a unique event,” Director of Graduate Nursing at Viterbo Mary Ellen Stolder said. “It is not found in the United States and actually it is unheard of in terms of all these different organizations coming together, working together and providing this opportunity free of cost to all of the attendees.”

The free event included several break-out sessions and guest speaker Dr. Kathleen Delaney, who covered the importance of patient care. Attendees were also able to visit student projects on display. The yearly event continues to gain more attention as the focus is shifted toward targeting the needs of nurses today.
