FORT MCCOY, Wis. (WXOW) – To help celebrate all military members, Fort McCoy invited everyone to learn about and honor military heroes with an open house.
The event included equipment demonstrations, camouflage face painting, a shooting gallery, and of course, food.
The community also had the chance to see the fort’s history center, and WWII era buildings, just to name a few.
“Armed Forces Day is to just get the communities around and not just here in Sparta/Tomah/Fort McCoy area but all over the nation involved,” says Stg. 1st Class Stacey Weiler. “You’re able to go and just see what we do for ya’ll and it’s an opportunity to get people interested.”
Participants had the chance to view more of the United States Army installation through bus ride tours throughout the day.
