LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – La Crosse Police investigators are trying to piece together what happened Thursday night after they responded to a shots fired call.

Sgt. Tom Walsh said officers went to the 900 block of 5th Avenue South shortly after 9 p.m.

He said the details on what exactly happened aren’t clear yet. He stated that a lack of cooperation from a person who was found injured and others involved are impeding the investigation.

Walsh said what they do know is that the incident happened outside and that one adult male was injured.

The man was treated at the scene and refused to go to the hospital for additional medical assistance.

Investigators are continuing to work on the case.
