BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WXOW) – A chase that ended in Black River Falls involved gunfire by both the suspect and law enforcement officers.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office released more details on Monday’s incident late Tuesday afternoon.

It all started in Eau Claire County with a stolen vehicle involved in two pursuits earlier in the afternoon.

Later, the was spotted in Black River Falls around 5:30 p.m.

Jackson County authorities say Quentin Labansky, 21, from Reedsburg, led officers on a chase that ended when he crashed the vehicle.

He then took off running and went into an apartment complex where he fired several shots. Police shot back but Labansky took off again.

Sheriff’s deputies say Labansky attempted to get into several homes and vehicles before stealing a bike to try and get away from deputies. They said Labansky went into a home and threatened the people who lived there with the gun.
