WINONA, Minn. (WXOW) – With the demand for care increasing, Gundersen Health System has decided to expand its locations to Winona.

As you drive past the old K-Mart on Highway 61, you will notice the mass reconstruction.

This new 86,000 square foot clinic is expected to open in phases starting this December, finishing in the spring of 2020.

Primary care will be included with a wide range of expertise, along with an urgent care, infusion services, and an outpatient surgery center to name a few.

“We see thousands of patients that come to La Crosse from the Winona area and what we want to do is we want to bring the care closer to home for those patients,” says Gundersen Vice President Bryan Erdmann. “It’s replicating what we do in many other markets right now.”

Erdmann also goes on to say that this will lead to less travel and be more convenient for Gundersen patients.
