ATF Assistant Special Agent In Charge Jonathan Ortiz of the St. Paul Field Division said that agents were executing a federal search warrant at the home near Brownsville as part of an long-term investigation.

Citing the ongoing investigation and active search, he wasn’t able to provide additional information on what was happening or what agents were looking for.

Agents were seen looking through vehicles, a shed, numerous boxes and documents outside the home.

It isn’t known if anyone was taken into custody.

The residence is located in a rural part of Houston County not far from the small community of Freeburg.

Besides the ATF, the Minnesota State Fire Marshall was on the scene, along with members of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Des Moines Police Department. The Minnesota DNR and Minnesota State Patrol were also assisting with the investigation.

We’ll update this story as additional information becomes available.
