La Crosse, Wis. – (WXOW) – La Crosse city crews were called to the southside for some repairs to an unusually large pothole.
The street department said it began with a sewer pipe located near Farnam and 28th Street. When the sewer pipe collapsed, the pavement above became damaged. Crews were making repairs when they hit groundwater, making the hole even deeper.
According to the department, pumps were brought in to assist. The work to the street is slated to be completed by later next week.
