SPARTA, Wis. – (WXOW) – The Western Technical College public safety facility officially unveiled it’s latest addition, an indoor firing range.
The new space is part of the $1 million project that transformed over 6,000 square feet into a state of the art building. In addition to the shooting range, a classroom is part of the structure.
“We need to make sure that as we move into the 21st century that our officers going out there have everything they need to serve and be safe,” said Kevin Dean, WTC Dean of Health and Public Safety. “This facility will offer us those capabilities, making sure it meets current needs and future needs as things progress and evolve.
The official opening of the range included an open house day, allowing anyone to learn about Western Tech’s other public safety programs. For those focused on the Law Enforcement academy, the next class cycle is set to begin on January 6. The 18 week program is for those persons seeking Wisconsin law enforcement certification.
