Home total loss, one person injured in Buffalo Co. fire

Buffalo County (WQOW) – A home is a total loss and one person was injured when a house started on fire in Buffalo County on Monday.

According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department, the fire started around 8:20 a.m. Monday at a home on County Road J in the town of Modena.

When deputies arrived the entire house was on fire.

Inside of the home were three oxygen tanks that caused small explosions.

Because of how close two homes were, they also had to be evacuated.

One person received a minor burn to the hand while trying to put out the fire.

According to the sheriff’s office, the fire started in the main level living room area, but the cause is still under investigation.
