LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – The Great Rivers United Way has officially launched their 2019-2020 community fundraising campaign.
On Tuesday, the annual kickoff breakfast held at the Cargill Room recognized 14 organizations that have already began their fundraising efforts while simultaneously sent organizations who have yet to start on their way to great campaigns. Mary Kay Wolf, the executive director of the Great Rivers United Way, said that the entire Coulee Region benefits from the fundraiser because all the money that is raised stays local.
“If you are a community-driven person and want to make sure your fundraising is helping the community that you live in, United Way is the best investment. Not only do we know who needs that money, but we also keep tabs on that money. We hold programs accountable with the money that they receive from the United Way from the donations that we receive,” said Wolf.
The Great Rivers United Way has set a goal to raise over $2 million for the community campaign. It will close on January 31, 2020.
Even if your company does not want to campaign, you are still welcome to donate to the United Way individually. For more information, you can go to the United Way website.
