One dead, three with life-threatening injuries in Monroe Co. crash

CASHTON, Wis. (WXOW) – One person is dead and three people suffer life-threatening injuries in a two vehicle crash Monday morning near Cashton.

The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 33 and County PC. according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Their investigation showed that a 2006 GMC Sierra failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection. The GMC was hit by a commercial truck headed east on Highway 33.

The sheriff’s office said the driver of the GMC was ejected from the vehicle. The driver and two people in the GMC received life-threatening injuries in the collision. A fourth person in the GMC died at the scene.

The driver of the commercial truck was not injured.

All names are being withheld pending notification of family.

The road was closed for several hours before it was reopened to traffic.
