LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WXOW) – Calling all dancing zombies. You are wanted to take over the streets of La Crescent for the 2nd annual Thriller performance.
People of all ages can get in the Halloween spirit early by dressing up and learning the dance routine to the hit Thriller.
Meagan Waddell organized this event in 2018 and is excited to get people together again this year. “Last year they had a blast with it, they had fun helping out with the choreography and some of the moves that we put in there were from there because that was important to me to make them feel like a part of the process.”
“This was an inspiration from my hometown in Lexington, Kentucky. There’s over 3,000 dancing zombies, it has grown into this big, huge deal. Basically just a fun way to unite the community around the art of music and dance and now that my husband and I have decided to stay here and settle here and we feel so blessed to raise our kids here, and it’s just a fun way for me to finally give back to the community here.”
Rehearsals are Sunday evenings October 6 from 4-6 p.m., October 13 and 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m at the La Crescent Community Building. The big performance is Sunday, October 27 at 6 p.m. in Downtown La Crescent.
All ages are welcome and there is no experience necessary. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend as well.
