LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – More than 10,000 students are enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse according to the school.
Numbers released by the university Monday said that 10,580 students are enrolled for the fall semester.
That edges out last year’s record enrollment of 10,569 students.
A record number of 2,194 first-year students are also attending the university.
One other record was set: the number of students of color on campus for the fall semester was 1,081, or slightly more than ten percent of the total student enrollment.
“Both the diversity and the size of our enrollment are outstanding,” says UWL Chancellor Joe Gow in a statement. “They demonstrate that our recruiting and retention efforts are succeeding. Clearly, our staff and faculty are wonderfully student-centered.”
