La Crosse, Wis. (WXOW) – This week is your chance to quench your curiosity about the dairy industry.
A free informational talk is being held on Tuesday night at the South Side Neighborhood Center in La Crosse. The host, Mark Misch, grew up on a dairy farm in Arcadia then went on to get a degree in dairy science and now has 45 years of experience working in the dairy industry.
He says this talk is perfect for people who are interested in learning where their food comes from.
“It’s a tremendous process,” said Misch. “All the way from deciding which seed, all the way to the harvesting and how we take care of our cows. The comfort of the cows is a very big thing in the dairy industry nowadays.”
He’ll also touch on what happens when milk leaves the farm and how farmers ensure safety for you, the consumer.
The talk will be held Tuesday, October 22 from 6:30-7:30 in the evening at the South Side Neighborhood Center. The event is free to attend. Misch just asks that you bring your curiosity and your questions.
