Flood warnings out for area rivers

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Many rivers around Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa continue to be affected by snow melt and runoff.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has posted flood warnings for several rivers in the region.

Here are the rivers affected in our area:

Trempealeau River at Dodge– Moderate flooding is forecast. Warning in effect until further notice.

Kickapoo River at Steuben– Minor flooding forecast. Warning until Thursday afternoon.

Black River at Galesville- Minor flooding forecast. Warning until late Thursday night.

Mississippi River at McGregor- Minor flooding forecast. Warning in effect until further notice.

A reminder from the StormTracker 19 Forecast Team that if you live in a threatened area, be alert for high or rising water, and be ready to move to higher ground if necessary.

Also, don’t take vehicles into flooded areas. It only takes two feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility vehicles. Turn Around, Don`t Drown!
