Aquinas holds off Onalaska in a high-stakes season opener

The Onalaska and Aquinas Volleyball teams got their seasons started in a big-time matchup at Onalaska.

Aquinas would have the hot hand early taking the first set 25-19. Onalaska then battled back in the second winning a tight one 25-23. Onalaska would keep the momentum getting to 24-10 in the set when the Bluegold’s caught fire and went on an 8-0 run before winning the set 25-18. After, that the momentum was all Aquinas winning sets 4 and 5 25-16 and 15-4 to take the win 3 sets to 2.

Lexi Donarski had 11 kills for the Bluegolds. Samantha Plantz and McKenzie Marcon had 11 and 9 kills respectively for the Hilltoppers.
