UW-La Crosse hits two home runs, shuts out UW-Stevens Point in game one

La Crosse, Wisc. (WXOW)- The UW-La Crosse softball team has four important WIAC games standing in between them and the post-season. They are right there in the standings, just one game back from first place UW-Whitewater, but sitting in third place.

They took on UW-Stevens Point on Tuesday afternoon. This game was scoreless up until the fourth inning when Sabrina Scardamaglia singled to right field bringing in a run to get the Eagles on the board. They added on 7 more runs from there, including five in the bottom of the 6th inning. Mia Schmidtke and Katie Block both hit solo home runs.

On the mound, Caitlyn Hughes pitched 6 innings, allowing just 5 hits, and striking out 4 batters.

UW-La Crosse won game one 8-0 in 6 innings.
