La Crosse (WXOW) Turns out hitting the re-set button on the season is working quite well for the Loggers.
They’ve won five in a row and are 5-1 for the second half of the season, which started last Wednesday.
That puts them in first place in the Great Plains East division.
This comes on the heels of a 17-19 finish to the first half.
They’re success most recently has come mostly because of their offense.
They’ve scored at least eight runs in four of their last six games.
“It feels good. I knew we were going to click at one point. It looks like it is happening right now. I think we just need to keep working hard, keep throwing strikes, hitting the ball hard,” said Loggers outfielder Ryan Holgate.
“I think we are going to have a good opportunity to keep the core group of guys here. As the season winds down, I think we have a really strong team and a good shot to win the second half,” said manager Brian Lewis.
The Loggers will play three straight at home starting Tuesday night against Waterloo.
