Loggers see the possibilities after Chapman performs in HR Derby

La Crosse (WXOW)   Former La Crosse Logger Matt Chapman competed in last night’s Home Run Derby in Cleveland.
He didn’t fair so well, hitting 13 homers in the first round and was eliminated.
Chapman played in La Crosse in 2012.
Seeing him on a big stage gives this current crop of loggers something to look up to.

“We talk about it quite a bit. We share stories of some of the guys who we’ve coached while we’ve been here and then obviously they know the big names like Chapman, Sherzer, and all those guys, so it’s a topic of conversation that’s probably everyday just to try to help them understand what they need to do to get to that level,” said Loggers manager Brian Lewis.
“It’s pretty cool. I think they were just like us, and they continued to work hard and it came together,” said Loggers outfielder Ryan Holgate.
