LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – The Central Boys basketball team is headed to the state tournament for the fourth year in a row.
On Thursday morning, students, faculty and community members filled the gymnasium to wish the team well.
Afterwards, players and coaches for the team took turns speaking, thanking everyone for their support.
“It’s the fourth time but we value it and treasure it just as much as we did the first, second and third one,” Coach Todd Fergot said.
Central plays Friday at 3:15 p.m. at the Kohl Center in Madison. If they win, they’ll play again on Saturday at 6:35 p.m.
The event started by recognizing the other sports team that qualified for state this year. The school honored members of the DECA, Wrestling, Snowboard, Gymnastics, Hockey, and Powerlifting teams.
