Flood Relief: Holmen schools collect Friday night

Shelves sit bare as flood water damaged goods at an Ontario gas station.

The Holmen School District is stepping up to help out victims of the flooding in our area.

On Friday night, the high school hosts West Salem in football. Instead of asking for an admission fee, the district asks that they make a monetary donation to flood relief at the ticket booth.

The money will go to people in Monroe and Vernon counties who were affected by the flooding during the past few weeks.

Members of the Holmen DECA and HHS Student Leadership Team will also help out. They’ll be collecting non-perishable food and cleaning items. They’ll be at Empire Stadium, the high school’s field, between 5-7:30 p.m.

Besides the food items, they’re asking for cleaning supplies such as garbage bags, bleach, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap.
