Large Storm Misses Us Just To Our South; Dry Weekend Ahead!

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

Yesterday was a pretty seasonable day overall. We went from our first below average day in nearly a month on Wednesday to a seasonable day on Thursday. That must mean your Friday is warming up, right? You’d be correct. We have a large storm system that will miss us just to our south this weekend, but it will throw back clouds and warmer temps beginning late today.

Highs Yesterday
High temperatures topped out at near seasonable levels for your Thursday afternoon.

Dry & Pleasant End To The Work Week!

High pressure will continue to wane off to the east-southeast throughout your Friday. That will mean a gradual increase of clouds through the afternoon. We will call it a good mix of sun and clouds today as temps rise back above average. Highs will top out in the lower to middle 30s with east-southeast winds averaging 5-10 MPH.

Today's Forecast Highs
High temperatures today will soar back above average into the lower to middle 30s.

Overnight, a large storm system to our west will continue to dip south. It will ride the jet stream into the Ohio River Valley where it will eventually meet up with some more energy and head for the mid-Atlantic states as a winter storm. As the storm passes south, we can expect more cloud cover and a very outside chance for a flurry well south of I-90. It won’t be as cold overnight with lows in the lower to middle 20s.

Today's Surface Map
Today’s surface map shows a developing winter storm to our west and high pressure to our east.

Cloudy & Quiet Start To The Weekend…

The storm system passing to our south will throw back more clouds to start your weekend. We will remain dry, which is the nice part about your Saturday. Even with a big storm system to our south, the precipitation shield looks to be pretty compact and hugging the center of circulation.

Futurecast Clouds/Precipitation
Futurecast shows that near miss of a winter storm for the weekend. We will just see overcast/cloudy conditions.

Above average temps are expected Saturday afternoon, as well. Highs will top out in the middle 30s with east winds averaging 5-10 MPH. Again, there may is the smallest chance for a stray flurry well south of I-90. For now, we are even keeping that chance out of the forecast and just making mention of it. Saturday night, things remain quite pleasant with lows in the upper teens and low 20s.

Travel Forecast
The travel forecast over the next several days looks to be fantastic! Smooth sailing straight into next work week.

Join me on Daybreak beginning at 4:30 AM as we talk about the near miss on the large system to our south and what that means for the rest of your weekend plans! See you then! HAPPY FRIDAY!
