The cool temperatures settled into the Coulee Region for your Thursday making for a well below average day. Many saw temperatures struggling to make it to the 40’s with wind chills in the 30’s. Today will be a similar day, but it won’t be quite as windy.
The Chill Continues To Round Out The Work Week
In the wake of that storm system that brought heavy rainfall early in the week, we will now turn our attention to a large area of high pressure that is taking over more than half of the country. High pressure is sprawled out over the Central Plains, but it has opened the Canadian door of cold air to come pouring into the upper Midwest. As a result, we are going to remain cool through today. Highs will top out in the upper 30’s and low 40’s under mostly cloudy skies to start. The afternoon should offer some decreasing clouds, especially late in the day. Overnight, lows will sink back into the 20’s and low 30’s under mostly clear conditions. Another frosty night ahead for the Coulee Region.
Great Weekend To See Peak Fall Colors
Many communities in northern Wisconsin are experiencing peak fall colors. Well, now it is our turn! Hopefully the wind didn’t knock too many leaves off the trees over the last couple of days. La Crosse county is 80% to peak colors, but the sights are already beautiful! This weekend is shaping up to be very nice with the exception of a pesky, breezy south wind. However, that south wind will be beneficial in allowing temps to climb into the low/mid 50’s Saturday afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Overnight, a system passes to our south with just some more clouds expected. Lows will bottom out in the upper 30’s under mostly cloudy skies.
Remain Aware of Flood Warnings This Weekend!
