Monday has provided a pleasant start to the work week. Highs today reached into the upper 50s. For the rest of the week there are big changes coming from time to time.

Showers overnight…
A weak low pressure system will generate a few isolated very light showers tonight, but sunshine will return for Tuesday. Look for warmer than normal highs in the 60s.

Middle of the week storm system…
A strong low pressure system will move into the middle of the country this week. Starting late Tuesday night rain chances will increase. Occasional showers and t-storms are likely on Wednesday, and amounts could top an inch or more for the area. Severe weather is likely to our south.

Beyond the storm…
Rain could linger into Thursday, but a beautiful stretch of weather will follow. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will feature sunny skies and highs mainly in the 60s.

Flood warnings remain in effect…
River Flood Warnings are in effect until further notice for locations along the main stem of the Mississippi River. Mostly moderate flooding is occurring. There is also a Flood Warning for the Trempealeau River at Dodge for minor flooding.

The Mississippi River forecast…
The river stage at La Crosse is currently in moderate flood at around 13.0 feet. This week, the river will fall to around 12.5 feet.
