Relief from the heat and humidity…
High pressure is settling in in for a few days and it is bringing very nice weather. Highs to start the work week reached into the 70s to lower 80s. That’s a bit below normal, but a welcome break from stifling humidity.

Gradual warming trend late in the week…
The latest cool air mass will slide slowly southeastward for the next several days. Southerly winds will move in later in the week and the temperatures will slowly rise. By Thursday and Friday above normal readings in the upper 80s will return.

High pressure means very pleasant week…

More humidity for the weekend…
An approaching low pressure system will generate more heat and humidity for the region. That will increase the chances for showers and t-storms by Sunday. It’s too early to tell if the storms will get heavy or severe.

Warming trend late week into the weekend…

The Mississippi River is rising…
The recent heavy rains have sent the river levels upward. We should not see any flooding along the big waterway, but boaters will have to abide by no-wake rules when over 10 feet.
