a Crosse, WIsc. (WXOW)- The Malacek sisters got there 2019 State Track Meet started right when Amalia Malacek took first in the 1600 meters. A race that was interesting from start to finish with a false start and a tight finish.

“It’s amazing I honestly wasn’t expecting it, I was going out there just trying to run a fast time and when I hit that 200 and was able to take the lead it was surreal. I’m pretty good at zoning out whether that’s a good or bad thing for a race I can pretty much shut off most of the time.”

Her sister Lydia Malacek also found her way to the podium taking second in the 800 being bested only by Roisin Willis who ran the fastest girls 800 in the country this year.

Their third sister Kora will go for her shot on the podium on Saturday in the 3200
